A Perspective That Stayed With Me

I came in thinking I already understood money reasonably well. By the end of the third session, I realised how many assumptions I'd been carrying without examining them. The workshop didn't tell me what to do — it helped me think more clearly about what I actually wanted.

Financial Goal Setting Workshop

RM 580  ·  4 sessions over 2 weekends  ·  2.5 hours each

The priority matrix we built in session two became something I actually returned to. I'd expected it to feel like a classroom exercise, but it turned into a tool I genuinely use when I'm weighing decisions.

What struck me was how different this felt from the financial talks I'd attended before. There was no product being sold, no pitch at the end. Just a structured way of thinking through what matters and what's actually realistic.

The follow-up session a month later was one of the more useful parts. Having to come back and review what I'd actually done — rather than just what I'd planned — made me more honest with myself. That accountability element is worth a lot.

I appreciated that the facilitator made space for questions at every point, not just at the end. When something didn't apply to my situation, we worked through why — and that made the content feel personal rather than generic.

As someone who had been putting off thinking about long-term goals for years, this gave me a format I could actually sit with. The workbook is something I still keep on my desk.

I brought my spouse to the second weekend and that made a real difference — having a shared vocabulary for talking about our finances helped us have clearer conversations at home. Would recommend doing it together if that's possible.

Digital Finance & Fintech Awareness

RM 750  ·  5 weekly sessions  ·  90 minutes each

I'd been using GrabPay and TNG for a while, but I hadn't really thought about what protections exist if something went wrong. This programme changed how I approach all of my digital finance tools — with more awareness and a bit more caution.

The session on SC-regulated P2P platforms was particularly eye-opening. I had looked at a few platforms before but never knew how to evaluate them properly. After that session I felt confident enough to do my own due diligence.

The digital security checklist alone was worth the time. I hadn't realised how many small habits were creating unnecessary exposure. The programme covered things I actually needed to hear, not just the fashionable fintech topics.

Kelvin has a way of making regulatory frameworks feel genuinely relevant. I expected dry content and instead got a very clear picture of how the digital banking landscape in Malaysia actually works — and what it means for people like me.

I work in marketing and had been following fintech quite closely, but I still came away with things I didn't know. The robo-advisory session was especially useful — balanced, objective, and genuinely informative.

The comparison guide for digital finance tools was one of the most practical things I've received from any financial programme. It didn't tell me what to choose — it gave me the framework to make my own informed decision.

Financial Mentorship Circle

RM 2,400  ·  12 weeks  ·  Bi-weekly sessions  ·  Max 8 participants

Twelve weeks is a long time to commit, but it's also long enough to actually observe changes in my own behaviour. I came in with a vague sense that I needed to do something about my spending patterns. By week eight, I had a clear picture of what was actually happening and a realistic plan for adjusting it. Ahmad was direct without being prescriptive — he asked good questions and trusted us to find our own answers. That approach made the experience feel genuinely personal.

What makes the circle different from a course is that it follows you rather than leading you somewhere predetermined. We had a participant who was dealing with a significant life change mid-programme — the facilitator adjusted the focus for that period in a way that served everyone, not just one person. It felt like a group of people actually invested in each other's progress, rather than students attending the same class. The messaging check-ins between sessions were a small thing that made a meaningful difference.

Having a small group meant no one could really coast through. There was a gentle expectation that we'd show up prepared and honest about what we'd done — or hadn't done. That level of mutual accountability was something I couldn't have manufactured on my own.

The shared resource library was something I used consistently throughout. Knowing that all the reading material had been vetted and was directly relevant to what we were discussing saved a lot of time and reduced the noise I'd usually encounter when researching financial topics independently.

Our Participants

Who Attends Capitolix Programmes

Capitolix participants come from a wide range of backgrounds and stages of life. Some are early in their careers and looking to build sound financial habits from the start. Others are mid-career professionals who have accumulated some savings but are uncertain about how to approach more complex decisions. Some attend as couples who want to develop a shared framework for their financial lives. Others come alone, seeking a structured environment for independent reflection.

What connects participants across programmes is a preference for learning that is genuinely educational — that builds understanding rather than directing them toward particular products or decisions. Many have told us that finding an environment without any commercial agenda was what made them feel comfortable engaging honestly with their own financial situations.

Our programmes have served participants from across Kuala Lumpur and the surrounding Klang Valley, including areas such as Petaling Jaya, Subang Jaya, Cheras, Kepong, and further afield. We welcome participants at all stages of financial understanding, and our facilitators are experienced in adjusting the pace and focus of sessions to reflect the needs of those present.
